Who licenses siding work in Missouri
Kansas City: Kansas City, MO KCMO's contractor licensing page says contractors doing regulated work in the city must obtain the appropriate licenses. It lists trade and specialty categories, including Residential Building, where supervisors oversee construction, alteration and repair of one- and two-family dwellings and townhomes. Siding is not named, and the page does not say whether siding-only work is regulated work. KCMO's Code Question FAQ separately says roof work involving structural elements needs a Residential Contractors license plus a KCMO Business License.

Kansas City: Lee's Summit, MO The page requires at least a Class C Lee's Summit contractor's license to get a permit for new one- or two-family dwellings, townhomes, room additions, and covered decks over 600 sq ft. It says all contractors must show proof of certification to obtain a business license. Homeowners may act as their own general contractor on a single-family home they live in. Siding is not addressed.

St. Louis: Missouri has no state siding license. The state Division of Professional Registration lists Electrical Contractors among its boards but no general, home-improvement, roofing or siding contractor board, and the City of St. Louis licenses mechanical, plumbing, drainlaying, electrical and sprinkler contractors, not siding (both observed October 13, 2026). St. Louis County licensing was not checked: the county site served a bot-check page. These records therefore carry no license data.
