ABOUT THE PUBLICATION

Choose a contractor with more context.

A research publication for homeowners comparing siding installers, starting with Kansas City.

Siding Contractor Benchmark helps homeowners build a more informed contractor shortlist. The Kansas City edition brings together matched business ratings, advertised materials, manufacturer contractor records, installation details and the questions a written bid should answer.

The contractor is the subject

Choosing fiber cement, vinyl or engineered wood is one decision. Choosing who removes the old siding, handles concealed damage, manages flashing and backs the installation is another. Our lists focus on the firms doing the work; the material guides support that choice.

Two useful starting points

The general siding comparison covers installers offering different materials. The James Hardie category adds the requirement of a named manufacturer profile, while retaining the same rating calculation. Neither is a guarantee of project quality or a substitute for checking a contractor’s proposal.

Visible sources, reproducible comparisons

Every profile links to its source material, with dates and limits. The methodology explains the ranking formula, missing records and shared ranks. Source corrections can change a result; a request for a better position cannot.

Start with your project

Use the Kansas City list to find companies to consider, then use the buyer guides to compare bids for the same scope. We do not install siding, provide estimates, verify availability or represent James Hardie. Contact the contractor directly about your project.
